Ants

• In order for biological control to be successful growing areas must be rid of ants
• Ants will protect honeydew secreting pests such as aphids, whiteflies, mealybugs, & soft-scales from natural predators
• Ants protect these pests in order to feed on the sugary excrement (honeydew) they produce
